John McCain: Is he a Cylon?
I think I said this before, but now that he got the nomination and I've been hearing and seeing him more often, it continues to bother me...
He looks and talks just like Colonel Tigh on Battlestar Galactica.
It doesn't help when he's seen with his wife, since Tigh's wife was a younger blond as well (at least McCain hasn't poisoned her because she was a traitor).
Every time I see him, I wonder where his eyepatch is.
The voice is even closer, so radio doesn't help.
Worst of all, I keep thinking, "We can't trust him. He's secretly a Cylon!"
I even saw him in person and thought the same thing.
Yes, I'm a bit loopy. BG season 4 (the final season) looks like it's going to be awesome and now we've finally got Sci-Fi on HD, so I'm really looking forward to it...

The short answer is yes, he is a Cylon. The longer answer involves psychodynamics involving free will and the infectious nature of the human spirit.
In other words, the other Cylons better watch out.

And here I didn't want Mike Huckabee to get the nomination b/c I thought he looked like President Logan from "24".
My problem was I thought McCain was like Tigh BEFORE Tigh was a Cylon....
I would try to imagine McCain, but instead, I'd imagine the loose cannon, surly, unstable bastard with nothing left to lose...
now that Tigh's a Cylon, maybe McCain is better off. i mean, apparently we're all Cylons. I hate this plotline. If Tigh and Starbuck aren't the two most human characters in the BG universe, then humanity doesn't mean anything. which is apparently the point of this silly plot...
So does that make Obama Baltar? I mean, if you look past appearances it fits.
Well, it does explain his commitment to campaign in all 50 states simultaneously...
I've called that character on BSG "that John McCain looking guy" ever since the show started.
But of course if i went by personality i would normally say that Hillary is a cylon, except... has any of you noticed that the cylon women on the show are all smokin' hot? And not even bill finds Hill attractive.
The other thought is if the choice is between a confirmed cylon and Obama... I'd go for the cylon.
TIGH is a cylon? SPOILER ALERT! My hub and I are catching up on BSG via DVD, and have only gotten the middle of season 4. I might have to cheat, now, and watch the Tivo'd episodes while he is at work.

While he doesn't look like him Obama sounds just like The Rock. I keep waiting for him to yell out at the end of a speech "Can you smellllllllll what Barack is cooking?"

Tigh is not a Cylon; neither are the others who thought they were Cylons at the end of that season.
They are humans who SLEPT WITH Cylons, or who slept with someone who slept with a Cylon (e.g. Tigh's wife).
Cylons are not thoroughly mechanical; there's a biological component. A disorder can be contracted by people who slept with Cylons or shared needles with Cylons or otherwise had significant blood/fluids contact; this disorder can infect the brain with nanomachines, causing the infected person to "tap in" to the Cylon hive-mind in an irregular and somewhat hallucinatory fashion.
(I thought everybody had figured that out by now.)
@R.C. I like your idea, but what about the Chief's wife, I forget her name, he had a baby with her. Also, with whom did Torie (the president's assistant) sleep with? Anders? Who did he sleep with? Starbuck? Who did she sleep with? What about Baltar, they did it in one of the early seasons?
I'm not too concerned that John McCain looks somewhat scary. I'm also not that concerned that he's old as fuck (although he does seem to be getting a bit senile) but I am quite concerned that he's a warmongering tool of the neocons who have destroyed this country over the last 8 years. You'd have to be insane to vote for four more years of this BS.
I'm sure if he is, his OS is Vista, which begs the question how can we trust him if he's going to constnatly need rebooting during emergencies?
